Oh Baby!!!

Mementos celebrates all occasions, and babies are one of our favorites! Isn't this just adorable?! Look close, you'll see monkeys, giraffes, elephants, flowers and other baby jungle images. This was made for a friends baby shower...she's having a boy! Congratulations Christina!

My Star...

This was an exciting week at our house! Hadley was 'Star Student' in his class. Each day he got to share things about himself with his classmates. He told them about having lunch with an astronaut last April, and about Apollo 15...it landed at 'Mount Hadley' on the moon. He got braces on Wednesday so he did 'show and tell' about them, and took chocolate chip cookies for all to end the week, mmmm!

Each year we celebrate his week as 'Star Student' by making something for the kids to take home with them. This year he took back pack tags:

He enjoyed being a Star for a week, he is a STAR in my eyes and heart every day!

Designs by Mementos make their way into all kinds of everyday things we do. Happy Friday before Valentines Day!!!

I was showered with love today, by a handful of girlfriends at a Charm Party. We each made charms and then swapped them, and added what we got to our own charm bracelet. This is what mine looks like:

Isn't it fun? There are about 10 new charms added today, all made by hand by the girls. We had a wonderful time celebrating girly stuff and being creative!

So many things about Valentines Day are irresistable. The pastel colors of the candy 'message' hearts, the shiney heart shaped boxes of chocolates, the BIG bouquets of flowers in the markets, the boxes of character themed valentines for kids to choose from to give out in class...all intended for us to share with loved ones and even those that are just friends. It is a fun holiday for all ages.

Vintage valentines are among my favorites to display, I have one that I gave my dad when I was about 3rd grade...signed "Amanda". It is one of my favorite personal treasures...I love the thought that he held it in his hands...and that I ended up with it to cherish forever.

Chinese New Year Celebration!

We all love a good party, don't we?! I know I do!

We celebrated Chinese New Year at a dinner last year. Mementos did the place setting and table decorations for several VIP guest tables at the event. Each guest was welcomed with a Chinese hat to wear. Place settings included water bottles and chocolate coins with custom labels, red 'to-go' container goodie boxes (with personalized labels on front, and fortune cookies and other treats inside!), and lots of other goodies. What the photo doesn't show are the ends of the tables with 3' pagodas, strands of hand-crafted firecrackers (no, not real ones!) and Chinese lanterns hanging above the tables...all done by Mementos. It was quite a festive event!

I love COLOR!

Valentines is just around the corner...and my all time favorite color is RED. I'll post enough red this next couple of weeks, today I'm enjoying looking at BLUE and GREEN! It is beautiful in the Bay Area (sorry for readers elsewhere, come see us!), the blue of the sky, the green of the grass...it is just awesome outside today.

Mementos does full-color work. We often get requests to include a photo on a candy bar or other client work. Two of my favorite designs are in BLUE and GREEN which are my inspiration for todays post.

The first is a custom design for my dads retirement, candy bars for him to hand out to friends and collegues. He was in the Navy so I went with a patriotic theme. Those are the Blue Angels flying in the photos on the left and right, and of course, my dad on in the center photo. Those pictures just make you want to stand up and salute, don't they?!!!

My GREEN for the day was for a sweet little shop called "Weekends at the Cottage" here in the east bay area. The owner Sue is a doll...I did a special basket for her of all of Mementos 'best' stuff! Water bottles, full-size candy bars, mini candy bars, Tic Tacs, gift bag labels, even luggage tags, she got the works! All in a beautiful emerald green with gold text. Full-color Mementos at its finest!
These items can be designed for a wedding, birthday, baby shower, corporate event...just about anything you can celebrate, we can do them for!
