Ode to Toile...a Toile Party!

Oh how I adore thee, oh TOILE. Thoughts of you make my heart go pitter-patter... Come with me on a quest for all things toile. We'll be stopping at Pretty Organizers Toile Party today!

I fell for the "Country Life" wallpaper that came out a few years back...so much so that I did my kitchen and office in it. The toile is happy enough, but then it is red and white, my fav together!

The toile has a rooster in it, so I found some wonderful rooster prints:


And the most amazing roosters that guard the kitchen from their perch way up high...

And plates, don't you just love the plate holders? All wire and swirley and a perfect way to display these handsome boys:

Ahhhh...toile. I'll be adding more around the home this spring...am feeling a decorating bug coming my way...it will have to be toile this time!

Back to the Room...

Let's take one more visit to Room With a Past for the month. If you missed March's sale last weekend, you missed some wonderful things! My offerings included lots of spring and Easter items!

And oh, those spring colors...I LOVE the pastel colors...and sunshiney-bright colors too!

And then there is the French-Country side of me that can't get enough of red and black, toile, roosters and the Eiffel Tower...

A Royal Beauty...

When we think of places we'd love to be, this is it for me - The Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Hawaii. In the heart of Waikiki, and yet a world away. Rich in Hawaiian history, it was one of the first hotels (along with the Moana) on Oahu. She re-opens today after a year of renovation. Welcome back, pink lady, I can't wait to see you again!

Goin' Green!

Spring is coming, you can feel it! Flowers are popping up everywhere, the fruit trees are blooming (achoo!) and gardens that were put down for the winter are rising out of hibernation even though our last frost is weeks away. Mother Nature has painted the most amazing palette of color outdoors. Heavy rains have freshened everything and warmer weather brings on the beginnings of the new season. Green is everywhere!

We're seeing green inside too. We celebrate the Irish in us all with St Patricks Day favorites that are stowed away the rest of the year, and come out in early March. Some are hand made (see the little leprechaun Hadley made?!) and some we bought. All are festive in color and spirit, and all remind us that greener days are ahead. Come on spring!
